About UsThe "Get-A-Way is a completely furnished vacation rental. Located in Central Virginia nestled in a wooded setting on 65 acres and a stocked 10 acre lake. The log house is located about 200 ft from the lake, it will accommodate 4 people(cots are available if needed for extra people) and has a full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, coffee pot, toaster oven, toaster, microwave, etc., 2 bedrooms (one queen and one double), bath, LR with gas log fireplace, large patio overlooking the lake, gas grill, outdoor furniture, deck overlooking the lake and a small boat dock. There is also a paddle boat and three other boats with trolling motors available for your enjoyment.
If you are looking for a quiet place to recharge, come and enjoy what nature has to offer. Watch the abundant wildlife, fish or take a boat ride on the lake or simply set on the deck, soak up the sun and read a book. In the evenings enjoy a fire by the lake and watch the beautiful sunsets. In the winter months the hunting enthusiast can enjoy this acreage plus over 300 acres of an adjacent WESTVACO tract (provided you have a WESTVACO permit).
We are approximately 1 hr. from Richmond, 45 minutes from Farmville, and about 1 hr. from Charlottesville. Grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, banks, pharmacies, etc. are approximately 15 minutes away.
Local Attractions include: Fork Union Military Academy, local DRIVE-IN Theater, Monticello, Blenheim Vineyards (owned by Dave Matthews), Trump Vineyards, Byrd Vineyards, UVA, surrounding town festivals in the summer months, Cowboy Day in July as well as many attractions in Richmond and Charlottesville.
